God has always drawn me to the water. The bathtub, the pool, the lake, the ocean. But the marsh, she's extra special. I heart the marsh.
I've never really thought about why I love it so much. I'm in this ebb and flow season and I'm beginning to understand.
Sometimes she's so filled with water that boats smoothly sail across her. She glistens as she reflects the sunset. Then the ocean pulls back all her water and she's left empty and bare at first glance. And she stinks. Some of my weird friends like the smell of gasoline. I like the smell of the marsh. Life is revealed. Creates rise and bask. The hidden grasses and soft earth get warmth from the sun.
Living water. It breathes in and out, ebb and flow, and as it does perspective changes. The view is different. And sometimes it stinks, but beauty is still there.
I love the marsh and in this season where God has pulled back the tide and revealed things, He's showing me that every single thing He creates is for purpose.
The tide will come in soon. The water will glisten, smooth and still.
But until then, I'll bask in the sun. The Son.
